This opportunity is open to students who take either our Rising Stars stage 1&2 classes and all music theatre classes including the new Saturday T3 session.

Friday 21 Nov, 5:00–8:15pm Extended MT rehearsal (compulsory for MT students )

Ballet students will attend their Ballet classes as normal

What is the Christmas Lights Switch On?

An external event run by North Notts BID, the annual town-centre Christmas Lights switch-on is a free public celebration in Old Market Square, Worksop (S80 1HS) on Saturday 22nd November 2025. The day runs 12:00–6:30pm with festive market stalls, food and drink vendors, Santa’s grotto, street entertainment, stage performances (including ABBA Fever) and a low-noise fireworks finale. Zebra Studios will perform 2:05–2:20pm on the main stage; performers meet at the studio first and walk up together. Book below to confirm your child’s place.

Who can take part?

Rising Stars Stage One (RS1): Mon 4:00–5:00 / Sat 10:00–11:00 - Routine: Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Rising Stars Stage Two (RS2): Mon 5:00–6:00 / Sat 11:00–12:00 - Routine: Polar Express!

All Musical Theatre classes: Minis, Juniors, Pre-Inters, Inters, Seniors & T3 - Routine: Who Loves Christmas?

Casting note: If a student is in Mini MT + RS2, they will perform the RS2 routine (not the Mini MT item).

What are the booking options and prices?

Event-day studio rehearsal + performance fee: £10 (pay at sign-up)

Sun 16 Nov group rehearsal: £5 cash on the day

Costume hire (RS1 & RS2): £10 (invoiced separately)

Musical Theatre must provide own Christmas jumper, Black leggings/Joggers (no hire fee).

What should my child wear and bring?

COSTUMES:

RS1 costume hire (£10): tutu, Olaf jumper, tights, ballet shoes, headband (please send children in a vest to keep warm)

RS2 costume hire (£10): [items TBC—confirmed in email] (please send children in a vest to keep warm)

Musical Theatre: Christmas jumper + black bottoms/footwear and trainers. PARENTS MUST PROVIDE

MAKEUP

All students to wear standard show makeup, Brown Eyes and Red Lips

Where are drop-off and collection?

All drop-offs and collections are at Zebra Studios. We aim for a 3:00pm sign out. All students must be signed out from Zebra Studios

How is supervision handled?

Students are supervised by Zebra staff/assistants from studio call to post-show dismissal. Registers and headcounts are taken before leaving, on arrival at the stage area, and on return.

Attendance requirements

Students must attend ALL of their RS1/RS2/MT lessons up until the event. This is non negotiable due to limited time frame. All additional rehearsals listed above are also Compulsory. If your child is not available to attend they will not be able to perform this time around.

Weather plan

Weather, contingency & refunds
If the official event is cancelled (e.g., weather), we won’t perform outdoors. Instead, we will invite immediate family into the studio to watch the routines.
No refunds will be given for rehearsals, participation fees, or costume hire. We’ve scaled back routines and external hires this year to manage risk.

Changes, commitment & sickness

Please email us as soon as possible if your child can no longer take part. It’s important that students honour their commitment when signing up for external events — last-minute changes affect teammates due to patterning and formations.
If your child is unwell, please let a member of the team know as soon as possible so we can adjust safely.
